Trying to embed a video

I’m trying to see if I can spice up this blog – bascially with videos and links of things that I like – so here goes nothing….

I’m really a ‘late latif‘ in this, but I just heard the lastest bollywood chart buster item song Sheila Ki Jawani yesterday and now I can’t get it out of my head!!!

So here’s the song – Enjoy….

P.S. I learnt (by trial and error) that you just paste the link on a new line without linking it. So the first time I did this I just pasted the link and it linked it to the youtube site and when I previewed the post, it showed it as a link, nothing more. Then I played around and clicked the unlink button and voila – here’s my video….

So in honour of the fact that I managed to get this, here’s another item song – Munni Badnam Hui from Dabangg

Happy New Year

Happy New Year 2011. A new year and time for new beginnings. As usual, here are my resolutions for 2011

1. Be a better person – a better mother, wife and employee
2. Make time to take care of myself – both physically and spiritually. This will mean exercising regularly, going for facials regularly and also keeping my faith.
3. Blog regularly.

I think these should cover pretty much everything. Let’s hope I am able to fulfil these resolutions this year.

Happy Birthday Sweethearts

D&P turn 7 today. My babies are growing up and not the toddlers of yesterday. Last night while putting them to sleep, I told them their birth story, which they love to hear.

They share their birthday with Minister Mentor Lee Kwan Yew, the man who is credited as being the architect of modern Singapore. MM Lee turns 87 today so here’s wishing him a very Happy Birthday too! My wish for D&P is that they emulate the man they share their birthday with and even if in their lives, they achieve a quarter of he had achieved, I’ll be a very happy mom.

On another note, last month when they had their medical check-ups in school, they were asked to visit the School Health Services’ Refraction Clinic. We made the trip on Monday and now both D&P have to wear corrective glasses – P for myopia and D for Astigmatism and myopia. They started wearing their new glasses from last night and looked so cute in it, if I may say so

Happy Birthday Singapore

Today is Singapore’s 45th birthday. Here’s wishing the country many more prosperous years ahead.

Yesterday a friend of mine (and doctor) invited us to come to her condo to swim. Pilot and doctor had a lovely time with L at the pool. So much so that today also we will be going to swim and miss the National Day Parade on TV.

I’ve been religiously watching the NDP for the ten years that I’ve been in Singapore. Somehow, I’ve always like the pomp and pageantry associated with something like this. I used to love watching the India’s Republic Day Parade as a kid, but unfortunately no one else in my family shared this with me and so I had to miss it more than I saw it. I guess I’m making up for lost opportunities here.
