Poetry: Friendships

A human being needs people around him, some more than others. All of us have friends and this poem is a celebration of the friendships we have in our lives.

Like everyone, I too have friends, but most of my closest friends don’t live in the same country as me, but thanks to technology, these days we are as close as we used to be.

Friendships

Some have so many that they don’t have time for everyone

While some have just a select few who are there for each other

They are with you through the bad and the good,

The good ones stay connected always, and with you they always stood

Some friendships go way back and you may not always meet

But when you do, you simply take over from where you last left off in a heartbeat

You know your friends inside out,

You know exactly what makes them scream and shout

Good friends are like diamonds I say, rare to find

But once found, they stay forever in your lives and make it shine

To the friends in my life, thank you for being there for me,

Though I don’t name you, you know who you are, and that’s the key

You are special in ways I can’t define

My friends, stay as you are and always shine
