2019 Week 33 Update

This week was the usual week where nothing much happened. I am actually sort of pausing my job search from now till I am back from my long awaited India holiday at the end of the year because I don’t want to interview only to tell any potential hiring manager that I can’t start until the new year which will automatically put me out of the running. But if something comes my way (which I prefer in any case), then that’s a different story altogether.

Speaking about my trip, we’ve booked our tickets to India as well as the train tickets to the interiors from a major city in the south as well as our hotel accomodation there. I am also looking forward to meeting my maternal grandmother who is around 90 years old. I know that she does not have many years left, so I do want to meet her this year. The children are also excited to meet their only surviving great grand parent. We still have to buy our flight tickets from Mumbai to the southern city and back, which we will do soon.

In researching the places we will be visiting, I ended up watching train videos on YouTube and I found these so fascinating. I have been revisiting old journeys which we used to take when we were in school and seeing all the station names brought back so much memories. I now want to take the children with me to visit more cities in India.

Have a wonderful week folks and this week brings us to the end to the month of August!

2019 Week 32 Update

It’s a new week and I have tons to do this week!

August is closing out fast and we’re reaching the last few months of the year.

Over the weekend, I also booked our tickets to our long awaited trip to India at the end of the year. I am so excited about the trip, which will involve a side trip down south. We are going deep into the interiors and so will be taking some train trips also. My last train trip was a few years back, but that was a short trip, so this will be memorable, especially for the children.

We’re knee deep into preparations for the O levels, and stress levels at home are pretty high! My eye infection also seems to have made a comeback, but I need to wait till October to see my doctor as part of the review.

That’s all from me today, have a wonderful week folks!

2019 Week 31 Updates

A fairly short week with the National Day at the end of the week meant that things were a little easy this week.

I spent the weekend thinking each day was the next day because it’s not often we get a long weekend all the way from Friday to Monday off. I spent the weekend without any alarms and it was so nice to wake up when I wanted to and not when the alarm asked me to.

This week also starts with a public holiday for Hari Raya Haji or Bakri Eid as it’s called in South Asia.

I was quite good at clearing my to-do list last week and am hoping to replicate the same this week too.

Have a wonderful week folks!

2019 Week 30 Update

Another week and the end of another month!

Life plods along and life is at status quo. There’s really nothing much to post here.

Over the weekend, both GG and I came down with a bad cold and cough and this meant that I was not in a mood to complete my tasks for the weekend which means it has been postponed to this week.

This week also ends with a long weekend, book-ended by two public holidays for Singapore’s National Day and the Hari Raya Haji festival. But for us, this weekend is going to be all about studies since the O level exams will be around 70 days then.

Prelim season is also upon us and my nagging mode is on full volume.

Have a wonderful week folks!

2019 Week 29 Update

Another usual week for me. I was slightly productive, but not as much as I would have liked it to be.

I do have pending tasks from last week which I am going to hunker down and finish it otherwise I will continously be behind!

I also accompanied GG to one of her interviews this week and spent the time waiting for her in catching up on the shows I had missed. I also had to accompany her to the hospital to review what we thought was a hairline fracture on her wrist. The review was a success because the senior doctors ruled out the fracture and said it was just a sprain and the line the initial doctor looking at her said was a hairline fracture was her bones still growing.

I am now researching for our India trip at the end of the year. We will be visiting a major metro in the south to visit my maternal grandmother as well as to visit S’ clan temple plus other temples in the vicninity. GG, BB & me are history buffs and some of the temple architecture is simply amazing which we are looking forward to seeing.

That’s all for this week. We’re almost at the end of July also which makes our O level exams looming frighteningly and that’s the big stress in the household which will only end in mid-November!

Have a fantastic week folks!
