2017 Week 52 Update

Happy New Year!

A new year offers you 365 blank pages. Write the most beautiful chapter of your life in this!

This was a hectic week for us as my parents went back to India last night after spending three months with us. I was quite sad when we dropped them off at the airport.

We also had a small birthday lunch for S over the weekend and that was fun.

The children start school tomorrow and life goes back to the hectic one we usually have during term time.

I’ll do a more detailed year in review post later in the week when I have time to gather my thoughts!

On that note, here’s hoping 2018 is the best year to date! Go forth and rock it!!

2017 Week 50 Update

Merry Christmas everyone!

I’ve made a mistake in my calculations of the weeks and so will end up short by one week this year.

After a long time, S and I drove across the border to shop in Johor Bahru in Malaysia. It was a fun trip and we really loaded up on groceries but it was not fun being stuck in immigration both sides of the border!

We’re counting down to the last week of the year as well as the last week of my parents being in Singapore. Life will go back to regular programming from next week. I have lots of plans to clear clutter once the children go back to school.

Have a blessed Christmas and an awesome week!

2017 Week 49 Update

Nothing really happened this week – I went to a second round of interviews at the part-time position I had applied to but may have to do one more round. Because this is the holiday season, most people are not around and so things are at a stalemate, at least until the new year, my job search is at a pause.

I’ve completely lost my writing mojo these days and find it difficult to write down even a few lines. I really don’t know what I can do to get out of this funk, maybe the new year will bring cheer to me!

Have a wonderful last few days of the 2017!

2017 Week 48 Update

Another interesting week in terms of interviews. I interviewed for the position I mentioned last week and in the middle of the week, got another offer to interview. The second position is better than the first one, which may turn out to be a part-time one after all. During the second interview, the interviewer was selling the company and position to me, which I understand is something positive.

We also went out quite a bit this week as S was on leave and that was something we rarely do as a family, what with school and work getting in the way.

The year is winding down and I am now starting to work on what I want to achieve in 2018. This is something I try to do regularly and want to continue next year also.

What are your plans for the rest of 2017 and in 2018?

2017 Week 47 Update

The last few weeks of the year are upon us and all over we can hear the chimes of the Christmas bells and songs.

I’ve an interesting week career-wise. On Monday, a recruiter from an MNC reached out to me via LinkedIn to want to speak to me for a possible contract position there. I’ve accepted the invite to speak, but this person has still not gotten on the phone with me. Then on Tuesday another recruiter got in touch for a fairly entry level position. This recruiter was very weird and kept asking very personal questions, which I did not like and was slightly brusque in replying to her. Again no callback, but this was something I expected. The last was from another organisation where I had applied to from a mums job portal. They asked me to come in one day this week to discuss the job offer. This again seemed a bit funny to me because who offers a job to someone without even meeting them once? I wrote back saying I would be happy to meet them to discuss the position and so am going there this week. I suspect this is a part-time position, but it’s something I am willing to consider at this point.

S is on leave this week and so we’re planning some activities with the parents and children. Let’s see what we end up doing!

Have a great week everyone!!
