2020 Week 03 Update

I spoke about having tears of joy and happiness last week when GG & BB get their results and that is exactly what happened! Both of them did much better than expected and when I first saw their scores, I actually had to see it twice to believe it.

They both scored Distinctions in unexpected subjects and in some subjects where a distinction was expected, it didn’t materialise. But all in all, we are very pleased with their results.

Since both of them have already gotten into their courses through an early admission exercise, their results confirmed this and they can’t take part in any admissions exercise. Their new schools have already sent them messages confirming their admissions, so that’s a real load off our heads. The children can’t stop smiling since the results.

This big news was pretty much our week. We have promised them new phones in this new stage of their lives, so that’s what needs to be done this next week.

Thank you to everyone who sent positive vibes our way and said a prayer for GG & BB. Thank you again since your vibes and prayers have been heard and acknowledged by the universe.

Have a greak week folks!

2020 Week 2 Update

Tomorrow is the day. In slightly over 24 hours we will know how GG & BB will fare in their O level exams. GG’s anxiety is over the roof and she will flare at anyone who dares cross her path. We have been giving her a wide berth over the last few days. I am also giving her more cuddles and reassurances lately. BB on the other hand, is more chill, but as we countdown to the results, I can see some anxiety in him, but it’s not as bad as GG.

I am slowly getting back into my work frame of mind and getting into the routine I had before I went on holiday. It’s taking longer than I expected, but I guess, this is because I am getting older!

I still haven’t figured out what I want to do this year with my life, but I want to think things over thoroughly before coming to a decision, so that I don’t break them the first chance I get.

If anyone can send some positives vibes our side, please do so, so that tomorrow, we are happy and the tears in their eyes are those of happiness and not sadness!

Have a wonderful week!

2020 Week 01 Update

It’s 2020 and we are in a new year! Hope this year has been good to you so far.

We arrived back in Singapore after a wonderful holiday and its back to the usual for us. The children, for the first time in more than 10 years didn’t wake up early to go to school. We all felt a little weird that day when we saw school children going to school, but they stayed at home.

This weekend is also super free for us since they don’t have Hindi school or tuition for the first time in years. It feels slightly strange, but it’s our new reality and one that we are getting used to.

The children are also meeting friends and catching up on what happened in the last month they were away.

I have not yet started working on my business full-time, but am starting to do so. Somehow, it seems to me that I should start on a Monday, which is tomorrow!

Have a wonderful 2020 and a great week ahead!

2019 Week 52 Update

We’re back in Singapore!

As we wind down to 2020, we have finished our Indian holiday and left Mumbai last night with a heavy heart. My parents are getting old each each and every trip becomes more difficult to say good bye.

Now I need to move from a holiday mindset and get back to a work mindset. I still have a couple of days before I can start working 100%.

Have a wonderful Sunday and see you next year!!

2019 Week 51 Update

If you are wondering how it became week 51 after week 52 last week, I went back and checked and I have made a mistake somewhere. Instead of going back a whole year to see where I made a mistake, I just changed this week’s title to reflect the current week!

We’re back in Mumbai and Bangalore has taken a heavy toll on us. Pretty much everyone is sick at home. I am nursing a bad cough (how bad? Think coughing every 30 seconds while trying to sleep). Finally gave in and saw a doctor twice this week. The first round of medicines didn’t do much but the second round is more effective, though I am feeling like a zombie!

S is back in Singapore and this is also our last week of holiday. Next week this time, we will be home and back to the routine life.

I am going to cram as much as I can this week, so see you next week. Enjoy the countdown to the new decade.
