2019 Week 17 Update

I was in a major funk for a good part of this week, but I am much better now and the start of a new week brings new hope.

I have been having some issues with one person where I am freelancing and this person has been very passive aggressive in dealing with me and this has got to me which contributed to the funk I was in.

I’ve rationalised it to myself and I am now much better and will not take this personally.

Anyway, we are at the end of April and for some reason, this month felt too short! This coming week is also going to be short one, with the May Day mid-week holiday. Mid-week holidays always remind me of a college friend who used to live for such holidays. She used to say that this meant Tuesdays feel like Fridays and Thursdays feel like another Monday and the week does not feel like the usual week at all.

Have a wonderful week folks!

2019 Week 16 Update

This was such a hectic week that before I knew it, it was over!

S’ Uncle who passed away last year had his first death anniversary. In the tambram community, this is an elaborate three day affair. S had taken leave to help out and so I was also roped in to helping and serving the priests and Brahmins who would come to eat.

This meant that I had to wrap up my daily work by 11 am when S would come home to pick me up and then we would be back home around 4 pm after the day’s function was over. It was so tiring!

The week ended with a nice long break for Good Friday and Easter. Next week is back to the grindstone with work and items to be ticked off my to-do list!

Happy Monday everyone!

2019 Week 15 Update

This week was a mixture of being super productive on some days and then days of being a sloth!

The highlight of my week was attending a career fair for women who have been out of the workforce. My intent on going for this career fair was to see if I can make some connections with sympathetic companies so that I can try to see if I can see myself there.

I also made time for some self care this week and it felt so good to do something for myself. I am seriously thinking of doing this on a regular basis, I do owe that to myself.

I have a busy week this week with some family commitments due. I am also planning on doing some serious work with regard to my career, the fair last week has energised me, I think!

Have a wonderful and productive week!

2019 Week 14 Update

This week was the kind of week I like, one where I managed to tick off my to do list and have time for myself too in the process.

I had a cousin’s husband over for dinner one night over the weekend. He was in Singapore for a work trip and this weekend was the only day all schedules synced up. Actually I was meeting him for the first time in almost five years, the second time after he married my cousin.

It was a fun evening, where we chatted and got to know each other well. I just wish my family lived closer so we can meet more often, rather than just every few years!

This week will also be an interesting one, but why I will tell you next week. I am also planning to spend more time with myself on some self-care, so I am excited about this.

Have a wonderful week folks!

2019 Week 13 Weekly Update

This was another meh week for me. For the past few weeks I have been slightly despondent and unproductive with many of my to-do lists being pushed to the next week for the third week running.

It’s the end of the first quarter of 2019 and spring is in the air in many countries.

I have mixed feelings about this year. On one hand I want the year to end, so I can finally go on a holiday and then I think that the end of the year means the O level exams and then I think again.

Have a wonderful and productive April. It’s April Fools Day today, have you made a fool of anyone yet?

Ending this post with a quote attributed to Mark Twain:

“April 1. This is the day upon which we are reminded of what we are on the other three hundred and sixty-four.”
