2019 Secondary 4 Week 32 Update

We are slightly over two months to the O levels and the stress is getting real! The children had their O level Englih Oral exams earlier in the week and GG was really stressing over it. She thinks she messed up a bit, which happens when she stresses over exams and BB also said, he fumbled a bit in the reading part. Both ended up with the same topic for the spoken interaction part, which was about the environment.

BB’s prelims start from next week and I am more stressed than him. For GG, her prelims start at the end of the month and she even has the September holidays in between. But I don’t like her prelim timetable as I feel it does not give them much time after the prelims to work towards the actual exams which start in the third week of October.

But before the exams, they will have their graduation ceremonies in school, for which I will go to. I have already committed to attending BB’s school ceremony, but have still not gotten the notification from GG’s school.

The EAE results will also come out this week and that’s another source of stress for us. I really am hoping that both BB & GG get offers in a course of their choice, but if that doesn’t happen, they just have to work hard and get the scores the courses demand.

Ah well, please pray for us, both for the EAE offers and the O levels. Have a wonderful Sunday!

2019 Week 31 Updates

A fairly short week with the National Day at the end of the week meant that things were a little easy this week.

I spent the weekend thinking each day was the next day because it’s not often we get a long weekend all the way from Friday to Monday off. I spent the weekend without any alarms and it was so nice to wake up when I wanted to and not when the alarm asked me to.

This week also starts with a public holiday for Hari Raya Haji or Bakri Eid as it’s called in South Asia.

I was quite good at clearing my to-do list last week and am hoping to replicate the same this week too.

Have a wonderful week folks!

2019 Secondary 4 Week 31 Update

This was a short school week and so will next week be because of the long National Day and Hari Raya Haji weekend.

BB had sports day one of the days and then add to the national day observance ceremony in school, plus science practicals in school, it meant not much done in terms of actual school work. It was pretty much the same in GG’s school this week.

We are enjoying a rare long weekend and we’ve been a sloth the last few days. Tomorrow is the last day of the holiday and Tuesday is back to our usual routines. We’re down to around 70 days till the O level exams so stress levels are increasing.

Have a fab Sunday folks and to those who celebrate it, Eid Mubarak!

2019 Week 30 Update

Another week and the end of another month!

Life plods along and life is at status quo. There’s really nothing much to post here.

Over the weekend, both GG and I came down with a bad cold and cough and this meant that I was not in a mood to complete my tasks for the weekend which means it has been postponed to this week.

This week also ends with a long weekend, book-ended by two public holidays for Singapore’s National Day and the Hari Raya Haji festival. But for us, this weekend is going to be all about studies since the O level exams will be around 70 days then.

Prelim season is also upon us and my nagging mode is on full volume.

Have a wonderful week folks!

2019 Secondary 4 Week 30 Update

August is here and prelims season has started!

BB & GG has their Mother Tongue prelims on Saturday and BB’s Science practical prelims are next week.

Over the weekend, along with other members of BB’s school parent support group, we hand made Lego keychains to give all teachers, admin and support staff for Teacher’s Day which will be celebrated on the first Friday of September. This PSG always makes handmade items to give the Teachers and this year was no different. It’s the last year for me as part of a parent support group as I don’t know if tertiary institutions have one.

We’re down to 78 days to the start of the O level written papers and I have installed a countdown app which tells so each day.

I am really looking forward to the end of the exams. But before that we will know the results of their EAE interviews later this month, another date I am anxiously looking forward to and dreading to at the same time. I really hope and pray that they both get admitted into the course of their choice.

Anyway, that was all for this week. Hope to get more positive news soon!! Have a wonderful Sunday.
