Another boring week but with Diwali sandwiched in the middle, the monotony of the week was lessened.
I have been wallowing in self pity for a while now and have decided this is it – I want to stop doing that and start a new routine, one which is a more productive one!

Nothing much happening in school for BB & GG. Both have gotten all their marks and as I mentioned earlier, BB’s marks are not as good as expected, though he has done better than the previous year. I really wished he put in a little bit more effort and he would have been clear on getting the subjects he wanted. At this point, we’re hoping and praying for the best. He submits his choices to school on Monday and the results will be out in early November.
GG has done well in school but there are some subjects I wish she could have done a bit better. I don’t think she will get to go to the better stream as her school’s standards are pretty high. Earlier in the week she came back and told me her maths teacher told them that they would not be eligible for taking the subject at an advanced level, so I wrote in a strong letter to the school and the next day the story turned 360 degrees. According to the subject HOD, it was a misunderstanding and now they get to write the qualifying test next week. Hopefully she gets in as she is not keen on the other subjects being offered.

Another boring week, but with Diwali coming up, I was kept busy prepping for the festival. We made some savouries and sweets and there’s a bit more to do which I will complete today.
I met a recruitment consultant earlier in the week and even though it was not very promising, I am hopeful that something may come up from that meeting.

Exams finished for GG also this week and we’ll start seeing her results from Monday. BB also started getting back his test marks this week and he has done worse than expected. I am so very disappointed with his results and it’s looking increasingly difficult that he may get his choice of subjects for next year! I am so very disappointed with him.
GG, on the other hand, has matured beautifully! She is so conscious of what she wants to do and goes about it with determination and dedication.
It’s the Indian festival of Diwali next week and the children are all set to enjoy it.

Another sort of boring week for me! My parents landed in Singapore and it’s been a week of spending time with them.
Other than that, I’m back to my usual routine of looking for a new job. I’ve sent some applications, but none have bitten so far. I really hope that I am more successful this time around and don’t have to wait so long to get another position.
I am also prepping for the biggest festival in the Hindu calendar – Deepavali or Diwali as it is called in the northern parts of India! We’ve started cleaning the house and my mum and I have started deciding on what to make (sweets and savouries) for the festival. The children still have exams going on and once it ends (by the end of this week), I’ll take them shopping to buy new clothes.
