2019 Week 27 Update

Life is meandering on with nothing really happening. The most exciting thing that happened was GG’s news that she had been called for an audition to a JC for DSA.

I have been quite productive this week, managing to hit all the items off my to-do list by the end of the week, which is quite rare for me. Hopefully, this is something I can do on a regular basis.

I had a bit of a low time in June when I was super unproductive and also didn’t really take care of my diet and exercise, but July has become a restart for me and this time I am more focussed on eating clean and walking at least 12-15k steps during the weekday and 10k steps over the weekend.

I am also at peace internally. I have decided to give my freelance business more thought and am becoming extremely picky when it comes to applying for jobs and positions. If it is meant to happen, it will happen, is my new mantra.

That’s all for this week, I have my eye review later today and I am hoping the doctor gives me the all clear this time around. I don’t want to go back for another review for atleast 3-4 months.

Have a wonderful week folks!

2019 Secondary 4 Week 27 Update

Week one of the new term and things are really hotting up in schools. We have gotten the dates and in BB’s case, the timetable for their prelim exams. They will also have their O level English Oral exam sometime in August.

GG had applied to one of the junior colleges for Direct School Admission through her CCA which is Choir, and got called for an audition next week. She was super excited when she got the message even though this was something she was not particularly interested in. So lets see how this goes.

It’s going to be a hectic 4.5 months until mid-November when the O level exams finish. Then, if their EAE results have been declared by then, its time to party until the results are declared in mid-January.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

2019 Week 26 Update

We now officially halfway down the year! There are times I feel the first half of 2019 has zoomed by while at other times, I can’t wait for the year to end.

School starts today and hopefully, so shall my productivity. I find myself quite unproductive when the children are at home and now need to recalibrate my thinking since they finish school this year.

I have quite a few things on my to-do list this week and hope to accomplish all of them. I am also planning our year end holiday and am really excited. I love planning for holidays and this time is no different.

Ok, gotta go and start work on that to-do list now, so have a wonderful week folks!

2019 Secondary 4 Week 26 Update

Term 3 of school starts tomorrow and this means that their prelims is just a month or so away. It also means that their O level oral exams will happen in August. GG is already kind of freaking out about school but BB is still chill about it.

The EAE portal for polytechnics has also opened and we have submitted our applications. Now, we need to keep fingers crossed and pray that both get an offer for the course they are most interested in.

It is going to be hectic 4.5 months until the end of the O level exams. Till then, its all systems go for us!

Have a wonderful weekend!

2019 Week 25 Update

Another week and we are almost halfway through the year.

Early last week, we made a trip to get our Vehicle Entry Permit done. Though it has been in force for a while now, but will be strictly implemented come October for vehicles entering Johor from Singapore.

You need to apply online and once you get the confirmation email, you can book an appointment to fix the VEP tag. You also need to download the Touch n Go mobile wallet app and link it to your Touch n Go card. We booked one location and a day before the appointment, we got an email saying that due to unforeseen circumstances, that location had been closed for the foreseeable future. Luckily I was able to book another location immediately for the next day and it was available.

Once you get there, you drop your documents (which are in the email sent to you) and then wait for your car license plate number to be called. Then you are given a token number and you wait for your token number to be called. At the first counter where your token number is called, they check documents and you can also photocopy any document you forgot to do at a cost of RM 2 per document. Then it’s waiting again for the next counter to call you where they take RM 10 as payment for the VEP.

Then you wait for your car license plate to be called and they fix the tag and check if it works. That’s it! It took us around 45 mins from the time we reached the place till we left. We were around 25 minutes early and they only start at the appointed time. So all in all, it took us around 15-20 minutes.

The rest of the week was very unproductive to me, I am realising that when the children are home, I tend not to do much. Now I am waiting for school to start so I can start on my To- Do list.

Have a lovely week folks!
