2019 Week 13 Weekly Update

This was another meh week for me. For the past few weeks I have been slightly despondent and unproductive with many of my to-do lists being pushed to the next week for the third week running.

It’s the end of the first quarter of 2019 and spring is in the air in many countries.

I have mixed feelings about this year. On one hand I want the year to end, so I can finally go on a holiday and then I think that the end of the year means the O level exams and then I think again.

Have a wonderful and productive April. It’s April Fools Day today, have you made a fool of anyone yet?

Ending this post with a quote attributed to Mark Twain:

“April 1. This is the day upon which we are reminded of what we are on the other three hundred and sixty-four.”

2019 Secondary 4 Week 13 Update

School started and in the beginning of the week, I went to GG’s school for a breakfast session with her principal and school leaders.

It was a light hearted session and GG’s form teacher had only good things to say about her. Though he doesn’t teach her any subject, he has heard about her from her other subject Teachers.

Otherwise the week was the usual one. Pace has slightly increased because schools are trying to finish the syllabus by the end of this term so they have plenty of time for revision.

GG is also gearing up for the Singapore Youth Festival, after which she steps down from her CCA, both in terms of leadership as well as actual CCA.

Hope your Sunday is as good as mine promises to be!

2019 Week 12 Update

This was the term break week so nothing much happened.

I didn’t have any work commitments this week so pretty much spent all my time at home.

We were planning a trip to Johor Bahru this week and because of GG’s school commitments, we could not find anytime to go together as a family. So S and I decided to go in just to do some grocery and other shopping. We left home around 9 am and except for a bit of a jam at the customs in the Singapore side, the trip across the causeway was quite smooth. We hit a bottleneck at the Malaysian customs. We were unfortunate to be in the one lane which only had one customs Bay with an officer who was super slow! We spent almost an hour in that lane getting frustrated with other vehicles just zipping past us on either side.

The return trip was uneventful as we had decided to leave from JB around 3 pm. We cleared Malaysian customs easily and drove across the causeway with a bit of a wait on the Singapore side.

It was a good trip and we managed to purchase all that we had on our list plus more!

This week will be a slightly more hectic week because I actually put some of my items which I had to do last week to this week. Wish me a productive time!

Have a wonderful and productive week!

2019 Secondary 4 Week 12 Update

This week is the school holiday week but GG barely had time to breathe. She was practically in school almost every day and got so tired that she says she wants a holiday before school starts tomorrow.

BB on the other hand, surprisingly didn’t have school at all. I was actually surprised by this given that they are the pure science class but I guess his teachers do enough of extra lessons during term time that they probably felt it was unnecessary during the holidays.

School starts tomorrow and with that term 2 where the pace will be intensified to rush to finish the curriculum before June so that students have ample time to revise for their O levels.

Have a wonderful Sunday folks!

2019 Week 11 Update

Every week these days, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to write this blog post.

It’s a very fine line I am treading between revealing too much and sharing with you all on what is happening with my life.

This week was the usual meh week! I had a couple of events to go to while wearing my freelance hat and those were pretty interesting. This month has a couple more on the cards so this month should be fairly interesting.

After the emotional talk with BB earlier this week, he seems to have turned a corner, but it’s still early days now. I do keep on giving him pep talks so he is not tempted to waste time on his phone and laptop.

GG has been falling sick quite often these days, it’s almost once a month and I am now getting worried about her. I do know it’s the stress of school work plus the competiton they are preparing for which will happen next month that is causing all this sickness.

That’s all from me for this week. Have a wonderful and productive week folks!
