Compass Box Killer – Piyush Jha
This book is a crime thriller, set in the by-lanes of Mumbai. One muggy afternoon, a senior police officer is found murdered at his desk. 2017 Week 32 Update
Life is going on as usual. I really don’t have a life anymore as it’s now Wakeup – Work – Come Home – Sleep routine.
In fact, I am quite behind in my reading these days. My 2017 Reading Challenge has been stalled since I started working and I need to start reading more if I want to complete it and on time. So I have been thinking of eliminating screen time at night and reading for an hour at least before bed. Will this work, well I will update it next week.
Work-wise, things are as they were, no real improvements there. But I am still optimistic that things will change and for the better.

Secondary 2 Week 33 Update
This was a usual week for the children with the usual school, CCA and tuition routine.
GG auditioned for a singing slot with a friend to sing at the school’s Teachers Day celebrations at the end of the month.
BB has also been busy with school and the CCA competition he has at the end of the month.
School ends on 30 August for a week long term break and when term 4 starts, it’s all about exams and streaming options.

The Pink Hotel – Anna Stothard
A seventeen-year-old London girl flies to Los Angeles for the funeral of her mother Lily, from whom she had been separated in her childhood. After stealing a suitcase of letters, clothes and photographs from her mum’s bedroom at the top of a hotel on Venice Beach, the girl spends her summer travelling around Los Angeles returning love letters and photographs to the men who had known her mother. As she discovers more about Mandy’s past and tries to re-enact her life, she comes to question the foundations of her own personality.
