Happy New Year!

Happy New Year folks! Its the start of a new decade and out with the old and in with the new!

2019 has been an intense year for us, as regualr visitors to this page will know. BB & GG sat for their O level exam (results of which should be out in the next two weeks or so) and I got more grey hair during this period than even the PSLE exams. The one silver lining which allowed us some respite during the exams was that both the children got an acceptance into a course of their choice. This means that as long as their meet the minimum requirements of their chosen course, their admission is confirmed once the results are declared.

I am hopeful for both of them for 2020 as they embark on a new chapter in their lives. They will be studying subjects they are interested and passionate about and I hope this translates into doing well in school and living their best lives.

On the work front, things were a bit quiet in 2019 as I was more focussed with the children this year. I work with some wonderful ladies and in 2020 want to expand what I am currently doing.

On a personal front, I have decided that that my word for 2020 will be “Bloom”! I am a fairly ecclectic person with varied interests and this year I want to expand the interests that consume me during the year. I want to bloom both personally and professionally in 2020 and give my best to whatever I do.

I also want to work more on this blog and provide interesting content. For a blog where I write anonymously and don’t share content with anyone and anywhere, I have great pleasure when I see all those who choose to follow me because you think the content I post is something you are interested in. So a huge Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Here’s wishing all of you a very Happy New Year! May 2020 be the best year of your lives and hope you achieve all that you set out to in the year. I leave you with a quote from Albert Einstein – Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.

2019 Week 52 Update

We’re back in Singapore!

As we wind down to 2020, we have finished our Indian holiday and left Mumbai last night with a heavy heart. My parents are getting old each each and every trip becomes more difficult to say good bye.

Now I need to move from a holiday mindset and get back to a work mindset. I still have a couple of days before I can start working 100%.

Have a wonderful Sunday and see you next year!!

2019 Week 51 Update

If you are wondering how it became week 51 after week 52 last week, I went back and checked and I have made a mistake somewhere. Instead of going back a whole year to see where I made a mistake, I just changed this week’s title to reflect the current week!

We’re back in Mumbai and Bangalore has taken a heavy toll on us. Pretty much everyone is sick at home. I am nursing a bad cough (how bad? Think coughing every 30 seconds while trying to sleep). Finally gave in and saw a doctor twice this week. The first round of medicines didn’t do much but the second round is more effective, though I am feeling like a zombie!

S is back in Singapore and this is also our last week of holiday. Next week this time, we will be home and back to the routine life.

I am going to cram as much as I can this week, so see you next week. Enjoy the countdown to the new decade.

2019 Week 52 Update

Namaskara from the Silicon Valley of India, Bengaluru! We arrived here early yesterday after a hectic three days in Tamil Nadu visiting temples. It’s been a day of constant chatting, especially for my mum as she reunited with her mother and sister.

We have some family visiting planned for today and tomorrow before we fly back to Mumbai late evening!

Our India trip is slowly coming to an end and I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I am happy to go back home, to my bed and work and on the other hand, I want to stay longer with my parents. Ah well, that’s life!

Have a great Sunday and an awesome week.

2019 Week 51 Update

We’ve completed two weeks in Mumbai and have started week 3 here now.

So far, other than eating and shopping, we’ve managed to do some sightseeing also. Some of these have been places I haven’t visited at all, or not seen in decades!

This week, we go down south on a religious trip and also to meet my grandmother. It’s a trip I am really excited about.

I also realised that I have some medical issues, which cropped up when I had some blood work done and so need to show the results to my GP once I am back home. I am glad I did this so at least now I am more aware of what is happening internally.

Have a greak week people, especially since we are counting down to a new year and a new decade in a couple of weeks time!
